Dean Lewis

Dean Lewis: ‘Drawing and Colouring In’

From 18th June to 8th July, our design editor and one of Wales Arts Review’s founding members, Dean Lewis, will have his first solo exhibition of his work, ‘Drawing and Colouring In’, at the newly opened Basement space at Newport’s Riverfront Theatre. The exhibition will see a mixture of digital illustration and pen & ink drawing, and will display work both old (and familiar to long-time readers of WAR) and some work produced especially for the exhibition. Lewis’ work stretches from the deeply personal and forensically detailed, to the big and bold and overtly political. Included are works he has created on commission, for Wales Arts Review, the Rhys Davies Trust and many others, but also a great deal of work created solely for the passion of his vision. Below are a few tasters of what visitors to the exhibition can expect.

On Saturday June 18th from 8pm there will be an opening event with live music from Newport band La Forme. (Those with a real thirst on will be meeting in the Murenger beforehand). Below you can both listen to the band alongside the samples of Dean’s work, but don’t mistake that for being there.
