Larvae
Larvae is the 2nd phase of our dance and movement project “Metamorfoza” which is based on the 4 stages of human development. “Metamorfoza” is the metaphor for a participative creative journey through ‘context oriented dance.’ It is the story of our external world, reflected through internal thoughts, feelings, dreams and memories which we experience throughout our lives.
‘Larvae’ is vibrant, proud, and reflective. It remembers all of the tenderness and care of ‘M:Brio’ but moves forward with the defiance and passion of ‘Larvae’.
Controlling, searching, fighting, being curious, Larvae doesn’t just ask questions, but it wrestles with them! Are we looking to or are we looking from? How do we use our experience for our own development and wellbeing? Our environment is our reflection, what are we doing about that?
The Larvae audience can expect to see an authentic movement dance performance based on the adolescence stage in life where our behaviour is stimulated by hormonal signals impacting our growth, function and transformation of the brain, bones, muscles, blood and skin.
As ‘M:Brio’ grows to ‘Larvae’, so the performers grow, grow in confidence, ideas, independence. How do we grow as humans? What do we need? Who do we need? Can we truly be ourselves?
