News: Theatr Clwyd Announce Four Residencies for 2023

Theatr Clwyd have started the new year with announcement of four new artists and companies residencies for 2023.

Theatr Clwyd have announced four new residencies in 2023 to support artists and companies
in the development of their work. As the building continues its exciting re-development Theatr Clwyd remain committed to supporting artists and companies in creating and developing work.

These unique residencies will allow artists and companies one to one support and advice from a
variety of teams throughout the organisation, including support for funding applications. The
residencies will allow two weeks of rehearsal space as well as a desk in the Theatr Clwyd office and
sharing opportunities with stakeholders. The venue is particularly keen to hear from companies
based/working in Wales, companies working in the Welsh Language and companies led by and/or
creating work with global majority artists.

Applicants selected for one of the Theatr Clwyd residencies will work as part of one of Wales’ biggest producing theatres. Since 1976 Theatr Clwyd has sought to create exceptional theatre from its home in Flintshire, North Wales and is is one of only four theatres in the UK to build sets and props, make costumes and paint scenery in-house. Recently, Theatr Clwyd has completed the public consultation period for a major Capital Redevelopment Project which will reimagine the theatre’s public spaces and create a greener, more efficient and sustainable building where world-class art can thrive and social action is rooted for generations to come.
