Wales Arts Review is very pleased to host and sponsor the Wales Book of the Year 2019 People’s Choice Award, in partnership with Literature Wales. The shortlisted titles are spread across three separate categories, for poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, with three books selected in each. The People’s Choice Award is given to the book with the largest number of public votes across all three categories, and will be presented to the winning author at the official ceremony on June 20th at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

To vote for your favourite book of the year on the list, click next to the title of your choice and then click VOTE. There is one vote per person. The voting form is active until midnight on June 7th.

The Wales Book of the Year Award is an annual prize celebrating outstanding literary talent from Wales across many genres and in both English and Welsh.

There are three categories in each language – Poetry, Fiction and Creative Non-fiction, with one of the three category winners announced as the overall Award Winner at a glittering award ceremony each summer.

Wales Book of the Year has been run by Literature Wales since 2004, during which time some of Wales’ most renowned writers have been celebrated alongside brilliant new talents. Click here for information on past winners and shortlisted writers.
