The Review Show will be presented by Gary Raymond, Editor of the Wales Arts Review, and will feature reviews and critique of arts events around Wales.

Each month, Gary will be joined by a panel to cover and review all of the arts, including TV, theatre, visual arts and music. In the first show, author and academic Dr Carrie Smith, and writer and broadcaster Charles Williams, join Gary to discuss the National Library of Wales’ Kyffin Williams exhibition, Behind the Frame; the latest album from the Manic Street Preachers; and the publication of Owen Sheers‘ verse drama about the tragedy at Aberfan, The Green Hollow.

Gary Raymond said, “I want The Review Show to be a breath of fresh air across the creative culture of Wales. It will be a serious and engaged look at the work being produced by artists in Wales by people who know what they’re talking about. I want my guests to get under the surface of a piece of work and rummage inside. It’ll be lively, informed and relevant to the issues of today.”

BBC Radio Wales Editor Colin Paterson added, “The Review Show will provide a platform for credible critique of the arts in Wales. These new programmes demonstrate how serious BBC Radio Wales is about arts and culture output.”

The Review Show is a monthly arts programme produced for BBC Radio Wales by Parasol Media, and airs at 6:30pm on Friday April 6th, and then available on iPlayer here.
