Happy Friday! And welcome back to video of the week. Today, we’re taking a look at the new music video, ‘Wedi Blino’, from the award winning art-rock band, Adwaith. An epic return from the Welsh trio, the single comes from their upcoming album Bato Mato due for release this summer. The single follows on from previous release ‘ETO’.

The video for ‘Wedi Blino’ presents something of a departure from previous Adwaith music videos, with an added gloss and grandeur that gives the whole thing a cinematic edge. The video takes inspiration from an incredible trip taken by the band with a journey on the Trans-Siberian Express where they ultimately reached the city of Ulan-Ude.

Speaking on the single, the band said: “We wanted to create a big indie-pop song that has a melancholy feel to it […] It’s about being worried that life is going too fast or the worries of a relationship, the overwhelming feeling that you’re not good enough and that you are the reason things aren’t working out […] The concept of the video is all about anxiety, feeling detached from the world, feeling like you’re the problem always. All these emotions that are very apparent in your early 20s. We worked with Eilir Pierce to create this video as we wanted it to be more dramatic and heartfelt than our other videos.”
