Introducing Video of the Week from Wales Arts Review. We’ll be showcasing some of the best new art in Wales with a new video shared every week. From music to drama and everything in between, videos will not be limited by medium. Today we take a look at “Remember” from Trampolene.
It’s time for video of the week and today we’re looking at the music video, ‘Remember’, from Trampolene – a track from their new album Love No Less Than A Queen. The Swansea alt-rock band have the seal of approval from Pete Doherty after touring with The Libertines (as well as Liam Gallagher) and they are now signed to Doherty’s record label, Strap Originals.
Reviewing the album for Wales Arts Review, Tilly Foulkes writes: “Love No Less Than A Queen harmonises elegant spoken word, laidback beats and old-fashioned, thrashing guitar. Sonically, Trampolene have overtaken their previous work, while Jones is lyrically at his best. Their musical influences span multiple genres and they’ve excelled within this experimentation. The outcome is an album that is brilliant and transcendent of typical categorisation”
Describing the album, frontman Jack Jones said:“The album was a way of me summing up my life so far. It made me search into myself and understand that life really is a gift after all and that being at peace isn’t wrong or something you don’t deserve and it actually makes things better that way.”
The video is filmed and directed by Roger Sargent, produced by Mike Moore and the song is composed by Jones/Thomas/Bone.
